Kayak Chiswick Pier to Kingston

(Lockdown muses to keep the club folks entertained) Went on a kayak paddle from Chiswick Pier to Kingston Bridge and back with Kiki and Harvey on Wednesday. Did the usual sprays and cataloguing boats taken. Noted that yet another pair of pigeons were building a nest in the Yellow Scorpio. Paddling Opportunities Next Sunday

Last Sunday went well so emails (not comments please) to the Enquiries email to book onto a paddle this week, preference will be given to those who did not paddle last week if we cannot take everyone out, but last week we had spare places. I will do an email out Friday night to confirm places.

Baby steps back to Sunday club paddles

Following on from changes in Government and British Canoeing advice the coaches have agreed revisions to our new risk assessment policy so that we can take a few more members out on the river.  So if you have not renewed your membership now is the time to do so. Wildlife Adventures on the Thames

Watch Out Watch Out Seal About On our Tandem return Kayak paddle from Chiswick Pier to Albert Bridge we had quite a lot of wildlife encounters. Myself and Andrea tried to get hold of a tandem kayak (it was an incentive to divert her from her other sports of climbing and horse riding). Scrubs for the NHS

Do you have any spare bed linen? They are being made into scrubs for the NHS. Liz Dodgson ( ex club coach and now returning new member) is looking for spare bedding. There is a fabulous project of over 60 people ( mainly around Barnes and Putney) sewing scrubs at home for the local hospitals.  The scrubs have been well received with Surgeons seemingly being delighted to operate with Thomas the Tank Engine or flowers … Read more
