Based in a superb setting on the river Thames at Chiswick Pier, Chiswick Pier Canoe Club was formed in 1999 and has around 60 members. It’s a friendly club and offers taster sessions to members of the public at weekends. After completing a taster session or two, you are welcome to join the club to participate in our regular river paddles.
All are always welcome whatever your experience or ability, so long as you are a competent swimmer, but due to tidal conditions on our stretch of the Thames the club primarily caters for adults and teenagers (14+) accompanied by a guardian. Read more about what you need to do to join a session on the Sessions page.
Assistance is provided to take people as far as they want to go in different parts of the sport. We are committed to developing all aspects of canoeing and kayaking, and helping people to make more use of the Thames. Have a look at our Blog and our social media feeds to see information about recent club activities and much more.
The club has a large selection of one-person kayaks, ranging from white water boats and sea kayaks to broad beamed craft which are excellent for beginners and less experienced paddlers. We also have three double kayaks along with five Canadian style canoes.
The club has been helped and supported by Chiswick Pier Trust, Sports England, Paddle UK, Hounslow Council and the Port of London Authority.
Details of our next event are shown on the Calendar page and our contact details and location can be found on the Contact Us page.
