Advertised as Surf, Rocks and Tide Races, did this weekend deliver!
There were porpoise, seals, puffins and vast colonies of sea birds on the circumnavigation of Skomer Island.
A few crossings in wind and tides, spectacular scenery, good food and great company.
These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to start a sea kayaking journey in calmer conditions and sheltered locations, progressively leading the attendees to more advanced conditions. Ending the season surfing the waves at the world-renowned tidal race and rocky reef, “the bitches”, Located in Ramsey Sound, Pembrokeshire, Wales, between Ramsey Island and the mainland.
We even bumped into an old club member when kitting up on the beach. Many thanks to Wight Expeditions for the excellent training, very patient guidance and numerous rescues!
