Thursday 14 August 1800, Brompton Cemetery

Experience the joy of speaking Shakespeare out loud – with gusto – guided by our brilliant voice coach (and kayaker!) Matthew Collins, in the stunning Brompton Cemetery Chapel, beautifully restored in 2018.
We kick off at 6:00pm sharp, meeting just outside the Visitors Centre (North Gate – a 30 second stroll from West Brompton tube).
First stop: a short walk among the graves of Shakespearean connections – we’ll share some lines, get in the mood, maybe raise a few ghosts (dramatically, of course).
Then it’s off to the chapel where the real fun begins. With Matthew’s guidance and some playful voice exercises, we’ll bring to life a lineup of iconic characters, possibly including:
🪦 The gravediggers in Hamlet
👑 The unlucky victims of Richard III
👻 Hamlet’s dear departed dad
🗡️ Banquo (who’s definitely not fine)
🩸 Julius Caesar (Et tu, etc.)
🧙♀️ And – oh yes – the witches in Macbeth!
As you dive into these deliciously dramatic roles, you’ll also discover new colours, textures, and powers in your own voice.
